Requirements For Pets Entering Different Countries

When it comes to pets entering Malaysia, there are specific documents that are required. These include a Vaccination Card, Health Certificate, Parasite Treatment Certificate, and Microchip. Similarly, for pets entering India, a health certificate in a specified format is necessary, as per the customs circular No. 94/2002 dated 23.12.2002 Import of pets under Baggage – Regarding. The certificate format can be obtained from us. For pets entering EU member states after October 2004, microchip identification, Rabies immunizations, and one-year vaccinations with the microchip number recorded on the Rabies Immunization certificate are required. Each EU member state may have its own specific rules and regulations, and the timing of these requirements is critical.

Important Points To Consider When Taking Your Pet

  • Microchip Implantation: Ensure that your veterinarian implants an ISO 11784 or 11785 readable MicroChip in your dog and/or cat.
  • Rabies Booster Vaccination: Ask your veterinarian to administer a Rabies Booster Vaccination to your pet and record the microchip number on the Rabies Immunization certificate. Some countries may also require a FAVN-OIE Rabies Antibody blood test within a specified period, as the validity of this certificate is crucial.
